Consultation Process and Switching to Private Health Insurance

Serve the customer the way you would like to be served yourself. This is our approach and it will never change. Together with you, we find the right solution for your optimal health insurance. Consulting and facilitating a switch to private health insurance is complex and requires a high degree of carefulness. Due to preliminary risk inquiries or health questionnaires, a switch is not always possible (risk assessment), or there are situations where we actively advise against private health insurance. Our consultation is usually free of charge. If you are satisfied with our professional advice, we would greatly appreciate referrals and a Google review.

Upon the successful completion of a competent and professional consultation tailored to you, it costs you exactly the same as a policy from a comparison portal like Check24 or from an insurance agent of the company. The insurance conditions of the companies are completely identical.

Private Health Insurance Consultation: Consultation Process

Here we show you how the consultation process for health insurance works with us. We guide you structurally and transparently through the topic to determine whether switching to a private health insurance plan is advisable. If it is not advisable, we can, if desired, provide guidance on private supplementary health insurance:

I First Appointment:

Preparation for the first appointment:

  • PKV Self-Disclosure: Please fill out everything carefully, especially the outpatient health questions (last 3 years), inpatient, and psychotherapy (last 10 years).
  • PKV Additional Declarations: If necessary or for complex illnesses, we require specific additional declarations (e.g., allergies, back problems). If you have medical reports, findings, or examinations from the last 5 years, please prepare them.
  • Data Protection Declaration: For processing health questions and personal data, we require your digital signature to handle your data in compliance with GDPR.

II Second Appointment:

  • Presentation of results from anonymous preliminary risk inquiries by the insurance companies: Under which conditions will they accept you?
  • Presentation of various companies and tariffs: Through a detailed summary from comparison software.
  • Contribution histories: How have the tariffs developed and how are they expected to develop?
  • Summary in your individual PKV dossier: The most important points are clearly summarized for you.

Preparation for the second appointment:

  • Anonymous preliminary risk inquiries: All health inquiries are submitted anonymously. This ensures that the insurance companies do not store your name or address.
  • Status verification: Are you voluntarily insured? As an employee above the annual income threshold of €66,000 gross (2023), as well as civil servants, self-employed, and students.

III Third Appointment:

  • Final questions regarding private health insurance are clarified.
  • Clarification of BRE contribution reimbursements or bonuses.
  • Conclusion and enrollment in private health insurance.
  • GKV cancellation is countersigned.
  • The process of switching is explained for successful implementation of PKV.

After completion of the third appointment:

  • GKV cancellation confirmation: The cancellation confirmation must be submitted immediately to the new insurance company.
  • PKV acceptance confirmation: The acceptance of PKV must be forwarded to the GKV.
  • PKV insurance certificate: This must be forwarded to the HR department for the employer contribution to private health insurance.

Long-Term Support

We will continue to support you on your journey in the future and regularly check if everything is in order. If you have any further questions about your health insurance, feel free to contact me. Have your life circumstances changed? For example, a job change (salary increase), unemployment, marriage, relocation, or the birth of a child? Feel free to contact me in these cases, as action may definitely be required!

Consultation on Statutory Health Insurance

Even if private health insurance is currently not suitable for you, there is still the option to optimize and upgrade your statutory health insurance.

  • Statutory Health Insurance: Here you can find a brief comparison of statutory health insurance plans. Which is the most affordable, which offers the best price-performance ratio for your needs, and how do the bonus programs work?
  • Private Supplementary Insurance: Do you want to upgrade your statutory health insurance? This is also possible. We mainly differentiate here based on conditions for outpatient, inpatient/hospital, dental, and daily sickness allowance coverage in the supplementary insurance.
  • Small and Large Options: If you cannot insure yourself privately yet, but might do so in the near or distant future, it makes sense to secure your current health status with the small option. With the large option, your current entry age is additionally secured.
